The kids went back to school today, after a 10 day snow break {shortly following Christmas vacation} It was past stir crazy for "The Mom". Though I am completely sporadic by nature, ongoing days of lacking routine is really NOT good for me. So can I get a "Whoot Whoot"
We endured a rather large snowstorm for upstate SC, that left us with 7 inches of snow and a layer of ice on top, that lingered longer than we would like in the south. But, in the midst of the storm a friend of mine asked, "So what is God showing you in this beautiful snow fall?" I pondered the question. "Storms are suppose to be shared."
Have you ever noticed how storms tend to bring people together?
You sit on the porch with your grandparents and enjoy a mid-summer thunder shower with really good stories.
The rain pounds against the house and thunder CLAPS loudly outside your window, somehow you find yourself retreating to a safe place between your mommy and daddy in THEIR bed.
More dangerous tornadic storms send you looking for safer places to hunker down with the ones you love.
And snow storms in the south, AHH, they can bring you together like nothing else can.
We found ways to share the storm and grew closer from it.
We built snow forts...
And snow angels...
We slide down hills on sleds...
Ate cornbread and warm soup for supper...
And enjoyed snow cream and board games for dessert...
We made paper snowflakes...
And hung them in the windows...
We shared books, and movies, hugs, and laughs...
Yes, I am glad that school is back in session and life can carry on with some routine. But, I am so thankful that I don't have to face life's storms alone... because they are suppose to be shared.
How do you share the storms in your life with others?
