Speaking Sweetly in the Wilderness...

"And now here's what I'm going to do:
I'm going to start all over again.
I'm taking her back out into the wilderness
where we had our first date, and I'll court her.
I'll give her bouquets of roses.
I'll turn heartbreak Valley into Acres of Hope." Hosea 2:14-15 (The Message)

Have you ever found yourself suddenly tossed into the wilderness? I do believe I have been, several times, and right now that is exactly where my Father has me living. In the Wilderness...

Lets define wilderness: Wilderness: 1. an empty or pathless area or region 2. wild or uncultivated state.

One of my favorite verses in all of scripture is Hosea 2:14-15. This scripture speaks so dear to me simply because I have lived it over and over, and seemingly living it now. Empty, pathless, uncultivated. Sometimes Father will bring us back to this state of being, because He needs to do something brand new in us. He needs to dig up roots of unforgiveness, bitterness, unbelief. He has to take us to a place where it is completely empty and pathless, so that He can fill us with His sweet words, and lay new paths of thinking and behaving. He desires to cultivate a hunger in our Spirits that only He can fill. He does this by revealing His love to us. Many times the only place He can do it is in the wilderness. Then and only then can we be transformed. That is the place where He takes our pain, wounds, heartaches, and makes a gateway, a gateway that leads into a wide open space of Hope.

So friends, I would like to invite you to journey though the wilderness with me. The journey of the wilderness is a journey of transformation. Every Thursday I will be posting a blog of what I am learning out here in this often scary place. I will share with you what Father is sweetly speaking to me in the emptiness of the wilderness.. I hope you will step in and catch a glimpse of the one who woos us and sends us bouquets of beautiful roses....

Disc, plow, plant, cultivate - then comes the harvest!!
When God is the gardener -- WOW!
When I lived on the farm, this took place EVERY year, and the cycle itself becomes beautiful.
Bless you as God blesses us through you!
